'Onward', 1884

The Daily Telegraph of 19th September 1884 noted: ‘The fore-and-aft schooner Onward (52-foot in length), while coming out of Wagonga on Wednesday last, struck on the bar, and soon after filled. The seas broke over her and there being no chance of getting the schooner off, the crew abandoned her.’ The Daily Telegraph also noted: 'Wagonga is a timber port situate to the southward of this port, between Tuross Inlet and Cape Dromedary. It is very seldom frequented by vessels.
