The Empire of 16th July 1863 provides these details:

LOSS OF THE SCHOONER ALMEDA. - Intelligence reached Sydney yesterday morning by the Gipsy, from Twofold Bay, of another shipping disaster from the effects of the late gale with which the
coast has been visited, but we are happy to say, without loss of life. The Almeda left Sydney on the 30th ultimo for Melbourne, having on board a heavy cargo, consisting principally of maize.
On the 9th Instant, when about six miles off Green Cape, she was caught in the gale in which she foundered. The captain and crew fortunately escaped in the ship's boat, and landed all safe at Green Cape _(evidently 26 hours later) _where the boat was dashed to pieces on the rocks. The crew arrived at Twofold Bay on Saturday, having walked overland. The vessel was the property of Captain Pride, and we believe is insured.

The crew arrived in Sydney on 20th July aboard the Kiama.
